    Thanks for that TC. And here's another interesting quote:

    "Look: today there is a phenomenon, namely, when they play Troilo, Di Sarli, D'Arienzo in all the milongas, everyone is dancing; when they play Pugliese half of the couples disappear."

    Though I don't get whether he's suggesting previously more danced Pugliese, or (as others report) even fewer did.
